Lawrence leads Fisher Cats past Senators in front of hometown fans

Fisher Cats starting pitcher Casey Lawrence returned home last night and dazzled friends and family, working eight innings to earn his seventh win in the Fisher Cats’ 5-3 victory over the Harrisburg Senators.

The 26-year-old from nearby McSherrystown, Pa., allowed two unearned runs on four hits while walking one and striking out four.

K.C. Hobson led the Fisher Cats offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI. Jon Berti went 1-for-4 and had a two-run single that made the score 5-0 in the fifth inning.

The teams meet again today at 6 p.m., with lefty John Anderson (3-2, 4.58) pitching for the Fisher Cats against righty Scott McGregor (0-1, 8.27).
