Infante blows first save as Fisher Cats lose to Mets, 4-3

Andy Burns drove in two runs and Jon Berti and Matt Newman had two hits apiece, but the New Hampshire Fisher Cats couldn’t hold a late lead, falling 4-3 in Binghamton last night.

Trailing 3-1 going to the bottom of the eighth inning, Binghamton’s Dilson Herrera homered off Tyler Ybarra to cut the lead to one run. In the bottom of the ninth, Travis Taijeron singled to tie the game and Xorge Carrillo followed with another single. After reliever Gregory Infante walked Brandon Nimmo, Herrera hit a sacrifice fly to give the Mets the win.

Infante (0-1) suffered his first blown save of the season after 15 successful attempts.

Cory Aldridge added a homer for the Fisher Cats, his fourth of the season.

The teams meet for the final time this season tonight at 6:35. Right-hander Casey Lawrence (7-5, 2.72) will start for the Fisher Cats against righty Greg Peavey (8-1, 2.54).
