Concord’s Ndi, Franklin’s Sylvester receive scholarships
Concord’s Walters Ndi and Franklin’s Dillon Sylvester are among 12 recipients of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Scholar-Athlete Scholarship, receiving $2,500 based on their athletic and academic achievements, as well as active citizenship in the community.
Ndi, who plans to study exercise science in college, was Concord High’s Male Athlete of the Year and an All-Conference player for the Crimson Tide’s state champion football team. He was this year’s wrestling state runner-up at 195 pounds, and also ran on the spring track team.
Sylvester, Franklin High’s valedictorian who plans to study business at Bentley University, also received the Chris Carpenter Award from the Fisher Cats. He was a member of the Tornadoes’ soccer, basketball and spring track teams.
They will be honored in an on-field ceremony before tomorrow’s Fisher Cats game against the Reading Fightin Phils.
