Concord Little Leaguers fall to Massachusetts, 12-2
The Concord Little League 9/10-year-old all-stars dropped their second game of the Eastern Regional, 12-2, yesterday to Braintree, Mass.
The teams were tied 1-1 after two innings before the Massachusetts champs plated five runs in the top of the third to take the lead for good. Concord got one back in the fourth, but Braintree scored three more in both the fifth and sixth innings. Ryan Jaehnig earned the win for Braintree (1-1) and helped his cause by going 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Noah Brent had two of Concord’s six hits and Max Grant drove in a run.
Concord (0-2) takes on Maine today at 2 p.m. and needs a win to advance out of pool play.
