Fisher Cats lose in 13 innings to Rock Cats, 4-3
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ season ended on a long and sour note, with a 4-3 loss to the New Britain Rock Cats that took 13 innings.
Jorge Polanco brought home the winning run with a double, giving the Rock Cats wins in three of the four games in the series.
Sean Ochinko hit a two-run home run for the Fisher Cats, who took a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth before New Britain evened the score in the bottom half. Kevin Nolan, Matt Newman and K.C. Hobson added two hits apiece for New Hampshire, while Nolan picked up the other RBI.
Casey Lawrence started in the finale and allowed only five hits and two runs in seven innings, but an unearned run off of Richard Bleier in the eighth spoiled his chances for a victory. Justin Jackson was saddled with the loss.
