Deering’s Jon Rheault makes NHL debut with Panthers

Deering’s Jon Rheault made his NHL debut with the Florida Panthers last night, playing 9 minutes, 20 seconds in the Panthers’ 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets. He was on the ice for a Panthers’ goal and finished with a plus/minus rating of +1.

Rheault was called up from San Antionio of the AHL, where he had a team-leading 37 points on 17 goals and 20 assists.

Rheault played four years at Providence College before entering the professional ranks, where he has made several stops in the AHL – he has played for the Manchester Monarchs (55 games), Providence Bruins (four games), Abbotsford Heat (131 games) and San Antonio (50 games).
