The NHTI men’s baseball team dropped two games to Massasoit Community College this past weekend, 10-0 and 2-1. Pat Jarvis (Concord) and Cam Angus (Concord) each had two hits in the second game, while Angus and Tyler Royle both pitched well. The Lynx are now 1-3 overall.
Nicole Grote, a freshman attack on the University of New Hampshire women’s lacrosse team, was named America East Rookie of the Week yesterday. Grote recorded career highs in both assists (four) and points (seven), both of which were team highs, to lead UNH to a 16-0 victory against Iona College on March 27. She also tallied three goals, one ground ball, one caused turnover and a personal best of two draw controls.

Concord Northeast Baseball and Softball League is holding a Special Meeting of the Members on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the East Congregational Church on Mountain Road. The proposed changes to the league’s by-laws will be discussed. Both the current by-laws and proposed changes can be found at concordnortheast.com. LAKES REGION FLAG FOOTBALL League’s women’s spring season registration is under way and open to all women in the Lakes Region area older than 18 as of April 1, 2013. The seven-week season starts April 19 at 7 p.m. with hour-long games played Fridays on the Inter-Lakes High turf field. The LRFFL youth flag football league is open to all boys and girls in the Lakes Region area between the ages of 4-17. There are five co-ed age divisions: 4-6, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14 and 15-17. CONCORD FLYERS girls’ track and field program will begin its 22nd year May 20 at the Memorial Field track. All area 3rd-8th-grade girls are eligible to participate.
