Hole in one

Beaver Meadow’s first recorded hole in one of the season came yesterday from Geoff Forester, who scored the ace on the sixth hole with a 9-iron. The shot was witnessed by Lynn Wodward and Mike Breault.

Tilton result

The Tilton School JV baseball team lost to Phillips Exeter Academy in five innings, 32-0. Matt Niskala had a double, single and a steal, while Mack Tasoulas had a base hit. Catcher Jake Long put in his usual strong performance, pitcher Joe Fama had three strikeouts, and Ahmed Al Qassimi made the first catch of his Tilton career on a fly ball to deep right field.

Colby-Sawyer results

The Colby-Sawyer College baseball team secured a playoff spot in the North Atlantic Conference tournament after a pair of wins over the University of Maine-Farmington, 3-1 and 5-1. The first game saw the Chargers (17-15) score all their runs in the first inning on RBI by Vinny Monahan and Jeff Dunn. Pitcher Mike Bowse earned the win, and Kevin Keith recorded the save. In the later game, Colby-Sawyer extended a two-run lead to 5-0 in the fourth inning thanks to RBI by Cody Pelletier, Kyle Greenwood and Alex Fredette. Pitcher Alex Drost went the distance, giving up no earned runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Capitols registration

Concord Capitols Football and Cheer will hold open registrations for the upcoming season for grades 1-8 Tuesday at the Broken Ground School at 7 p.m., and Wednesday at Rundlett Middle School at 7 p.m. Forms will be available at the registration sessions or online (leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=concordcapitols).

All-Star lacrosse

The Hanover Lions Twin State All-Star Lacrosse Games will be played June 22 at Hanover High. All participants are graduated/graduating seniors chosen by their respective coaches’ associations as outstanding players from their respective states of Vermont and New Hampshire. wrestling camp that will teach the fundamentals of the unique style that has won Concord three state championships will be held June 24-28 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wrestlers will develop great technique and be able to apply their new skills. SUMMER BASEBALL camp to benefit CHAD (Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth) and the Red Sox Foundation will be held July 1-5 (no camp on July 4) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Pembroke Academy. Soccer camp at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy is accepting registrations. Camp runs Aug. 5-9 from 8 a.m.-noon for athletes entering grades 4-8. Registration is $75 per camper before July 1 and $85 after July 1. There is a family discount for two or more players from the same family for $65 per camper. The Coe-Brown Soccer Academy, for all area high school soccer players, will have a certified athletic trainer and strength/conditioning coach on staff. GRANITE STATE RACING Team/Concord’s Running Club is a club of runners of high school age and older of all abilities. CONCORD FLYERS girls’ track and field program will begin its 22nd year May 20 at the Memorial Field track. All area 3rd-8th-grade girls are eligible to participate. Practices will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening (with a few exceptions) from 5:30-7 p.m. There will also be a few practice meets on Sunday mornings during late May and June from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The team will also travel to Manchester’s Livingston Park on Thursday evenings during late June and July for open meets that begin at 6 p.m. The registration fee for new team members is $80 (uniform included) and $40 for returning team members. GRANITE STATE ROLLER Derby will open its third season tomorrow at Everett Arena in Concord with bouts at 5 and 6 p.m. Children 10 and younger are admitted free, and adults are two for $15 for advance tickets. Season passes are also available for $20, and include a ticket to each of the four home bouts, programs and a 10-percent discount on all GSRD merchandise purchased at a bout.
