Division II quarterfinals

No. 5 Oyster River (9-5) at No. 4 Bishop Brady (12-2), 4 p.m.

HEAD TO HEAD: The Green Giants won, 6-3, in the season opener April 3.

Notes: Bishop Brady won the last time these teams met, but a lot has changed since early April. Unfortunately for Oyster River, the Green Giants have just gotten better, winning 8-1 or better nine times and losing only to Hanover and Portsmouth – who are a combined 28-0. Another change is that the Bobcats will have to deal with No. 2 singles player Shelby Herrington, who missed the April matchup, and who fortifies Brady’s singles lineup along with No. 1 Maddy Moran and Katie MacMullin, Caroline Urbanek, Mikayla Clarke and Lynn Yoon in spots 3-6, respectively.

No. 7 Coe-Brown (8-6) at No. 2 Hanover (14-0), 4 p.m.

HEAD TO HEAD: The Bears lost to the Marauders, 9-0, on April 26.

Notes: The Bears did an impressive job of rallying from an 0-3 start to make the tournament, but they’ll face perhaps the biggest task they could draw right off the bat. Hanover is as good as it gets in the division, having not lost a single match in 11 of its 14 wins and earning those victories by a combined score of 113-5. Coe-Brown has also struggled against the upper-echelon competition, with a 1-6 mark against teams seeded higher in the tournament (the lone win being a 5-4 victory over No. 5 Hollis-Brookline). The Bears will need to be perfect to pull the upset, and will need a spark from the top of their singles ladder in No. 1 Noey Struthers and No. 2 Shannon Ketenci.
