Youth baseball

The Bow Plumbing and Heating Indians advanced to the Bow Cal Ripken Majors championship game by defeating the Bow Structures Unlimited Pirates, 12-3. The Indians offense was led by Ryan Sheppard (four hits), Colby Gordon (three hits) and Riley Elliott (two hits). Strong pitching by Elliott, Jonah Bult and Ben Boisvert held the Pirates at bay. Matt Hamilton and Spencer Cheney, with three RBI, and singles from Corey Gott and Kyle Dugas led the Pirates offense.

Golf results

Dick Ennis, Ed Vigneault, Jim Delaney and Jim Whelan placed first in the Mojalaki Senior League yesterday. Ray Craigie, Dick Chandler, Al Robertson and Bob Eppich took second, with Jerry Moore, Frank Martin, Steve Phillips and Ted Andrus in third, and Jerry Morin, Tom Adams, Nick Pirog and Bob Reed in fourth. The Mojalaki Senior League plays every Thursday beginning at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

∎ In yesterday’s two ball best ball event at the Concord Country Club, two teams tied for first place at 61. The teams were Alan Andrian and Don Steenbeke Jr., and Don Steenbeke Sr. and Don Steenbeke Jr. In a tie for second place at 62 were the teams of Jim Henderson and Dennis Ducharme, and Alan Andrian and Don Steenbeke Sr.

The Frank Monahan Foundation Golf Classic, the foundation’s inaugural fundraising event, will be held July 15 at 9 a.m. at Concord Country Club. Frank Monahan Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and motivating youth to take their education seriously, visualize their dreams and to make a difference in their community. Specialty sports camp

A specialty sports camp will be held at Abbot-Downing School in Concord for kids who have completed grades 3-8. The camp will focus on a different sport each week Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Soccer will be the focus June 24-27, basketball from July 1-3 and lacrosse from July 8-11. Campers will be grouped by age and ability and will play games along with learning fundamental skills, teamwork and strategy. Golf tournament, Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s 8th annual Alumni and Friends tournament, will be held tomorrow at Nippo Lake Golf Club in Barrington. First Tee of New Hampshire is hosting its 10th Anniversary Golf Tournament Monday at Baker Hill Golf Club, 101 Baker Hill Road, Newbury. The start is 1 p.m. and is best ball format. Reservations for foursomes are being accepted, but space is limited. Donation is $230 per person.

Concord City “B” Men’s Tennis Tournament will be played next week at Bow Brook Club. The tourney is intended for players with a maximum rating of 4.0 according to the USTA guidelines. Singles and doubles competition is planned. Matches will be played on a variety of court surfaces in the early rounds, with the semis and finals on the Bow Brook clay courts. Players should be available for daily (late afternoon through evening) play each weekday and the following Saturday and Sunday. Singles registration fee is $15; doubles is $25 per team. This year, the race will be training for the New England White Water Slalom Series, with the potential to be a regular race in the series in future years. The Concord Interclub’s Men’s City fourball event will take place July 4, 6 and 7 (finals of all flights). The championship is conducted at the area host clubs of Canterbury Woods, Concord, Loudon and Beaver Meadow based on an annual rotation system, and the two-person teams are flighted based on combined handicap, with a plan of eight teams per flight. Eligible players must have a sanctioned handicap and be a member of an area club or a resident of Concord. Applications are available at area clubs with a deadline of June 26. Entry fee is $90 per team.

Pembroke Summer Recreation Program is still open for registration at the Pembroke Highway Department. The six-week program is open to any Pembroke or Allenstown children entering grades 1-6. The program runs July 8-Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Memorial Field in Pembroke. Extended hours for early drop-off or late pick-up are available for an additional $10/week.
