Fisher Cats lose opener of series to SeaWolves
A week after sweeping three games in Erie, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats failed to keep their momentum going against the SeaWolves last night in Manchester, falling 6-3 in the opener of a three-game series.
Ryan Tepera suffered the loss for the Fisher Cats, allowing eight hits, four walks and three runs in five innings. Erie built a 3-0 lead after 3 1∕2 innings and New Hampshire couldn’t get any closer than one run the rest of the way, managing only five hits in the game.
Adam Loewen (single) and Brian Van Kirk (fielder’s choice) drove in one run each for New Hampshire, and the other run scored on a double play.
The teams meet up again tonight at 7:05. Sean Nolin (3-1, 2.87) starts for the Fisher Cats against Erie’s Kyle Lobstein (5-4, 3.25).
