Blake wins Mount Washington Road Race for third time

Mountain runner Eric Blake of New Britain, Conn., reclaimed the champion’s title in the Mount Washington Road Race. Blake, who also won the 7.6-mile race up the auto road of the Northeast’s highest peak in 2006 and 2008, had his fastest time ever yesterday at 59 minutes, 57 seconds.

On the women’s side, Laura Haefeli of Del Norte, Colo., was the fastest woman, finishing in 1:18:05.

About 1,300 runners from 34 states and two Canadian provinces participated.
