Fisher Cats see lead melt away in 5-2 loss to Altoona
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats had a lead after four innings but couldn’t hold on, as five unanswered runs led the Altoona Curve to a 5-2 win last night.
The Fisher Cats went up in the top of the first when Kevin Pillar walked, stole second and scored on an error, and upped the lead to two in the fourth when Adam Loewen went deep for the 10th time this season.
Altoona rallied, however, with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth, and the Curve took control for good with three runs in the seventh. Deck McGuire (3-7) took the loss, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out six in six innings.
The Fisher Cats will try to avoid the sweep today at 7:05 p.m. when they send Ryan Tepera to the mound. Altoona will counter with Casey Sadler.
