Walden’s first career shutout leads Fisher Cats over Senators

Marcus Walden tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats earned beat the Harrisburg Senators, 7-0, yesterday.

The 24-year-old Walden (5-7) needed just 90 pitches for his fifth win. He did not walk a batter and struck out five for his first career complete game.

The Fisher Cats gave Walden all the run support he’d need in the fourth inning when Brad Glenn (3-for-4) doubled, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a single by Clint Robinson.

New Hampshire (35-40) added a run in the fifth and broke it open with a four-run sixth, highlighted by a two-run double from Kevin Ahrens.

The Fisher Cats open a seven-game homestand tonight against the Reading Fightin Phils.
