Schimpf’s three-run homer leads Fisher Cats past Mets

Timely delivery

Ryan Schimpf drilled a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats used four innings of scoreless relief from Scott Gracey and Alan Farina to beat the Binghamton Mets, 6-5, last night at home.

Trailing 5-3 in the sixth inning, A.J. Jimenez (2-for-4) singled, Clint Robinson walked and Schimpf drilled his Eastern League-leading 17th home run off Ryan Fraser (0-1) to put New Hampshire (41-45) in front. Gracey (1-0) earned the win and Farina picked up his third save.
