Golf results

Dave Merwin, Pete Sorette, Bill Leber and Larry Drake placed first in the Mojalaki Senior League yesterday. Dick Markuns, Craig Smith, Wayne Andrews and Bob Mahoney took second, while the team of Wally Strauch, Tom Koehler and Tom Adams placed third. Jerry Morin, Nick Pirog, Ed Vigneault and Ted Andrus placed fourth. The longest drive contest was won by Dave Palfrey and the closest-to-the-pin winner was Al Robertson.

∎ In yesterday’s two ball best ball event at the Concord Country Club, the team of Jon Lang and Charlie Blake Sr. took first place with a score of 55. In second place with a score of 60 was the team of Don Steenbeke Sr. and Don Steenbeke Jr.

∎ Bow’s Ed Moody placed first in his age group (birth year 1928-38) and sixth overall, shooting an 86 during league play at Stonebridge Country Club. Henniker’s Barry Caldon (1939-43) placed first in his age group and ninth overall with an 88, and Hopkinton’s Brian Kelly also shot an 88 to place second in his age group (1944-54).

Youth swimming

Concord’s Blue Dolphins took seven swimmers to Tuesday’s multi-team classic, hosted by the Jasper Valley Swim Team in Amherst. The seven swimmers performed a near-perfect sweep, winning nearly every event they were entered in for a total of 17 first-place finishes. The sweeping squad included Sage Murphy, Bin Bin Schell, Ryan Quinn, Kevin Quinn, Maria Draper, Katrina Wiesner and Wilson Josephson. Notable performances came from Murphy, Schell and Kevin Quinn, who all won three individual events.

Camps/clinics/lessons

Pembroke Summer Recreation Program is still open for registration at the Pembroke Highway Department. The six-week program is open to any Pembroke or Allenstown children entering grades 1-6. The program runs through Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Memorial Field in Pembroke. Extended hours for early drop-off or late pick-up are available for an additional $10/week. A $15 non-refundable registration fee is required, and the cost of the program is $45/week for Pembroke residents and $55/week for Allenstown residents. Cost includes a weekly field trip. BREWSTER ACADEMY is hosting a soccer camp run by Aaron Miller, head men’s and women’s coach at Trinidad State Junior College (Colorado), for boys and girls ages 10-17 today-Wednesday. Overnight tuition is $300 and includes all 15 meals, dorm room, all films and instruction, swimming and use of turf indoor field. Enrollment is limited. Wildcat Football Camp will be held Sunday-Thursday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the UNH football facilities. The UNH coaching staff, along with other local coaches, will provide instruction for campers in grades 6-12 (grades 6-9 will practice separately from 10-12). The camp is full-contact. Registration and camper check-in will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Paul Sweet Oval (indoor track) inside the UNH Field House, followed immediately by the first session at 6 p.m. Tuition is $180 including a $30 non-refundable administrative fee.
