Rundlett fall sports

Signups and tryouts for Rundlett Middle School fall sports are as follows:

∎ Field hockey – Aug. 27 pick up necessary forms and sign up during lunch period (10:30-10:55 and 11-11:25 a.m. for grade 6, 12:45-1:15 p.m. for grade 7, 1:25-1:55 for grade 8). Aug. 28 meeting and tryout for grades 6-8, 3:45-5:30 p.m. on field located off the 100 wing. Aug. 29 & Sept. 3 tryouts for grades 6-8, 3:45-5:30 p.m. on the field hockey field.

∎ Boys’ & girls’ cross country – Aug. 27 pick up necessary forms and sign up during lunch period (10:30-10:55 and 11-11:25 a.m. for grade 6, 12:45-1:15 p.m. for grade 7, 1:25-1:55 for grade 8). Aug. 28 first practice 3:30-5 p.m. in the RMS gym (this is also an additional sign-up).

∎ Soccer (grades 7-8) – Aug. 27 pick up necessary forms and sign up during lunch period (12:45-1:15 p.m. for grade 7, 1:25-1:55 for grade 8). Aug. 28-29 boys and girls, 7th grade 3:30-5 p.m., 8th grade 5-6:30 p.m. Sept. 3 7th/8th-grade girls 3:30-5:30 p.m., 7th/8th-grade boys 5-7 p.m..

∎ Girls’ volleyball – Aug. 27 pick up necessary forms and sign up during lunch period (10:30-10:55 and 11-11:25 a.m. for grade 6, 12:45-1:15 p.m. for grade 7, 1:25-1:55 for grade 8). Aug. 28 grades 6-8 meet 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the big gym, grades 7-8 tryouts 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the big gym. Aug. 29 grades 7-8 tryouts 3:45-5:45 p.m. in the big gym. Sept. 3 grade 6 3:45-5 p.m. in the new activity room, grades 7-8 tryouts 3:45-5:45 p.m. in the big gym.

All athletes must have medical forms filled out by their parents before they can try out. Medical forms will be handed out in the cafeteria the first day of school during lunch periods. Call 225-0819.

Events

HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL tournament will be held at White Park in Concord on tomorrow to celebrate the new basketball courts. The tournament features Merrimack Valley vs. Bishop Brady at 6 p.m. and Concord vs. Newport at 7 p.m. The championship game will be held at 8 p.m. Matt and Luke Bonner will be officiating.

CONCORD CITY MEN’S “A” TENNIS tournament will be held Monday-July 28 at Bow Brook Club. Singles and doubles competition is open to any male resident of Concord, its surrounding towns and members of Bow Brook Club. Entries should be phoned in to George Lagos at 774-3570. Leave a name, cell phone number and email address. Deadline for registration is today at 6 p.m. Fees are $20 for singles and $30 per team for doubles.

BOW FALCONS BOOSTER CLUB Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 2 at 8:30 a.m. at Canterbury Woods Country Club in Canterbury. The cost is $110 per golfer to form a foursome. Golf tournament, Crimson Tide baseball’s tournament, will be held Aug. 9 at Beaver Meadow Golf Club. Foursome and sponsor vacancies are available. Golf tournament hosted by the Friends Program to support its Youth Mentoring Program will take place Sept. 9 at Concord Country Club. Webster Youth Soccer registrations will be held tomorrow from 5-7 p.m. at the Webster Soccer Field for kindergarten through 12th grade. There will also be free Challenger Soccer Clinics during the registrations from 5-6 p.m. for ages 4-6, and from 6-7 p.m. for ages 7-13. Bring a soccer ball and water. Tryout dates for NH Lightning softball are as follows: 10U and 12U, Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 10th at 10 a.m.; 14U and 16U, Aug. 7 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 10 at noon; 18U, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. Rain dates are Aug. 8 (6 p.m.) and Aug. 11th (10U and 12U at 10 a.m., 14U and 16U at noon, and 18U at 2 p.m.). Soccer registration for the Bow Athletic Club fall recreation season is available online at bowathleticclub.com. Grades 1-2 will be co-ed teams within Bow, while grades 3-8 will play in the Merrimack Valley Soccer League. No experience necessary. Registration closes Aug. 15. Team NH Baseball will hold tryouts for its 12-, 13-, 14- and 15-year-old teams for the 2014 season Aug. 17-18. Tryouts will be held at Campbell High School, 1 Highlander Court in Litchfield at the following times: 9-11 a.m. (12-year-olds), 12:30-2:30 p.m. (ages 13 and 14) and 3-5 p.m. (15-year-olds). Camps/clinics/lessons

Pembroke Summer Recreation Program is still open for registration at the Pembroke Highway Department. The six-week program is open to any Pembroke or Allenstown children entering grades 1-6. The program runs through Aug. 16, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Memorial Field in Pembroke. Extended hours for early drop-off or late pick-up are available for an additional $10/week. A $15 non-refundable registration fee is required, and the cost of the program is $45/week for Pembroke residents and $55/week for Allenstown residents. Cost includes a weekly field trip. FIELD HOCKEY CAMP will be held at the Bow High field hockey field Monday-Friday from Aug. 5-16 from 8-10 a.m. The Back to Basics camp is free for all Bow and Dunbarton elementary school students entering grades 3-5. Soccer camp at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy is accepting registrations. Camp runs Aug. 5-9 from 8 a.m.-noon for athletes entering grades 4-8. Registration is $85. The Coe-Brown Soccer Academy, for all area high school soccer players, will have a certified athletic trainer and strength/conditioning coach on staff.
