Two-out rally lifts Fisher Cats over Thunder, 7-4
A four-run, two-out rally in the top of the sixth inning lifted the New Hampshire Fisher Cats over the Trenton Thunder, 7-4, last night.
With two runners aboard and two outs, Tommy Manzella lined an RBI single to right to tie the game at 4-4. Adam Loewen (3-for-4) followed with an RBI single to center for the go-ahead run, then Andy Burns provided some insurance with a two-run double to left.
Sean Nolin improved to 7-2, earning the win with five innings of six-hit ball. He walked four and struck out three, yielding four runs in the fourth. TysonBrummett threw three innings of one-hit relief, striking out four, and Alan Farina picked up his fifth save, with the first two batters of the ninth landing in scoring position before Farina retired the next three.
The Fisher Cats, second in the Eastern Division, improved to 51-47, building a 21∕2-game lead over the third-place Thunder (49-50).
