Marshall, Martin, Schmidt tied at women’s State Am

Abenaqui Country Club’s Tracey Marshall shot the day’s best round, a 2-under 70, and Nashua Country Club’s Tracy Martin shot an even-par 72 on her home course yesterday to forge a three-way tie with first-round leader Lisanne Schmidt after two rounds in the women’s State Amateur Championship golf tournament.

All three bring a 3-over score of 147 into today’s final 18-hole round at Nashua CC.

Abenaqui’s Dana Harrity, the defending champion and a 15-time winner of the event, is alone in fourth place and four shots back at 151 after shooting a 3-over 75 yesterday.

Beth Hamilton of Pembroke Pines Country Club is the lone local golfer among the top 10. She sits at 167 (23 over par) after shooting an 85 yesterday.

The rest of the top 10 are Colette Schmidt of Eastman GL (155), 2011 winner Tara Watt of Derryfield CC (156), Cortney Tilley of Atkinson CC (160), three-time winner Louise Billy of Derryfield CC (164) and Amy Peters of Hanover CC (165).

The leaders tee off for the final round at 10:50 this morning.
