Monarchs release 2013-14 schedule; home opener set for Oct. 19
The Manchester Monarchs will open the season with a four-game road trip before making their home debut at the Verizon Wireless Arena against the Providence Bruins on Oct. 19, it was announced yesterday when the team released its 76-game 2013-14 schedule.
Manchester opens the season in Springfield against the Falcons on Oct. 5, then visits Providence (Oct. 11), Bridgeport (Oct. 12) and Hartford (Oct. 18).
The Monarchs play 46 games against Atlantic Division rivals Worcester, Portland, Providence and St. John’s. They play 20 games against Northeast Division teams and 10 against East Division teams. The lone Eastern Conference team they don’t face is the Syracuse Crunch. The regular-season finale is April 20 at Portland.
Special occasions at the Verizon include Mullets in Movember (vs. Norfolk on Nov. 16) and New Year’s Eve Celebration (vs. Providence on Dec. 31).
