Fisher Cats fall to Sea Dogs, remain three back in wild card chase
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats let a 5-3 lead after six innings slip away and fell to the Portland Sea Dogs, 10-5, last night, keeping them three games behind Trenton in the wild card chase in the Eastern Division. The Fisher Cats have seven games remaining.
Gabe Jacobo (2-for-4) homered and drove in three runs to help New Hampshire build its 5-3 lead, but Portland’s J.C. Linares took over from their, blasting three-run homers in the seventh and ninth innings.
Kevin Nolan went 2-for-4 with a double and a triple and two runs for the Fisher Cats, and John Tolisano added a solo homer.
Marcus Walden allowed five runs (four earned) in 6 2∕3 innings, and Randy Boone suffered the loss after giving up five runs in 1 2∕3 innings.
The teams meet again tonight at 6:35. Marcus Stroman (8-4, 3.22) pitches for the Fisher Cats against Henry Owens (2-0, 1.50).
