High Schools: John Stark golf team second in season opener

The John Stark golf team got its season off to a decent start with a second-place finish at a four-team meet held at Crotched Mountain Country Club yesterday.

The Generals collectively shot a 237, six strokes behind Hollis-Brookline (231). Stark (2-1) placed just ahead of Con-Val (238) and well ahead of last-place Milford (269).

Junior Matt McFall had the lowest score of the day for the Generals with a 43, while seniors Ben Guilmette and Zach Hellings shot identical scores of 47, and Kyle Kolehmainen (48) and Cian Bremer-Zydenbos (52) made up the rest of the top Stark scores. Con-Val’s Ben Wescott and Sam Cody were co-medalists, each shooting a 41.

Stark is back in action today with another four-team match with Hollis-Brookline, Souhegan and Windham.
