Sharks take bit out of Monarchs in shootout
J.F. Berube stopped 36 of 37 shots through regulation and overtime for the Monarchs, but Worcester got two by him in a shootout as the Sharks beat Manchester, 2-1, yesterday.
Zach O’Brien scored just 57 seconds into the second period to break a scoreless deadlock and the Monarchs (16-5-1-4) carried that lead into the third period. But Worcester defenseman Konrad Abeltshauser scored his first goal of the season 5:47 into the third to knot the game.
In the shootout, Dan DaSilva and Daniil Tarasov scored for the Sharks (10-8-1-1), while only Jordan Weal could beat Worcester goalie Troy Grosenick (31 saves).
