How did it feel to turn in a medalist-winning performance as your team won the D-III title? It was pretty exciting to shoot so well in a pressure situation like that, but it wasn’t just me who won us the title, everyone that day contributed to the team and did their job.
Was there ever any doubt among the Falcons golfers that you’d take the team title this season? We knew coming into the season that we were going to be a powerhouse, but we had to keep thinking that this wasn’t our title yet and we still have to perform.
Did you guys think a lot about having a perfect season? I wouldn’t say we thought about too much, we always knew what our record was, we just had to keep focus and not let stuff like that get to our heads.
Your team had multiple medalists throughout the season, was the intra-team competition heated at times? For sure, our top four golfers were always trying to compete with one another and we all had our fair share of medalist rounds.
What is your lasting feeling of that second day of individual play, when you had the lead going in but came up three strokes short of the title? Defeat on the 18th hole, but I looked at it as another learning experience and learned from it. It’s a game where you’re going to lose more than you win.
What are your plans next year and do they include golf? I plan on attending Southern New Hampshire University and playing golf there.
Who introduced you to golf, and how old were you? I went out with my dad when I was 9 and started to play with him and his friends and since then I couldn’t put the clubs down.
What’s the best advice you ever got on the golf course? Keep it simple and play your game. If someone is hitting it 20 yards farther than you, don’t let yourself think that you have to keep up with him. Play to your ability and strengths.
What’s more frustrating, a bad shot off the tee or a bad putt? Off the tee because it ***** the entire hole up and is difficult to make a good score.
What’s the coolest golf course you’ve ever played? Bethpage Black Course because U.S. Opens have been played there.
What course do you dream of playing someday? Augusta
If you could win only one tournament, which would it be, The Masters, U.S. Open, British Open or PGA Championship? The Masters, I would probably never take that green jacket off.
Tiger Woods vs. Jack Nicklaus in each’s prime – who wins? Tiger, because he had intimidation and it showed when he played against others. I didn’t get to see Jack play, though.
The Winter Olympics are coming up soon – which event is your favorite to watch? Curling
Is there a TV show you just can’t miss? “Eastbound & Down”
What do you never leave home without? A hat
If you could be better at one subject in school, what would it be and why? Math, I barely pass it every year.
What’s your favorite place to eat and what do you get there? Longhorn, a cheeseburger
If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be and what would you do? PK Subban and knock out Brad Marchand, Oh, I’m sorry, Brad Marchaaaaaand. Hard a.
