Even without several of its top athletes, who had competed a day earlier at the Dartmouth Relays, the Coe-Brown girls’ indoor track team finished second, just three points behind Kennett, 59-56, in the afternoon meet yesterday at UNH.

The Bears had four individual champions, led by Jelasa Nelson, who won the long jump with a leap of 14-3½ and who finished second in the 300. Alley Savioli won the shot put (36-2½), Alli Pratt won the 1,500 (5:32.3) and Megan Spainhower was first in the 3,000 (12:32.1).

Other scorers for the Bears were Lauren Montgomery (second 55), Daphne Jordan (sixth 600), Julia Cormier (fourth 1,000), Elley Smith (fourth 1,500), Aurora Goodwin (second 3,000) and the runner-up 4x160 relay team of Christen Gallant, Montgomery, Jordan and Nelson.

Pembroke placed eighth with 12 points, earned by Jayla Decker (sixth 1,500), the fourth-place 4x400 team of Decker, Rebecca Frederickson, Mariah Mitchell and Allison Fischer, and the fifth-place 4x160 squad of Emma Foss, Brianna Douglas, Emma Gagnon and Katherine Arvanitis.

Franklin (5) landed in 10th behind Sadie Kaplan (third shot put) and Kaley Shepard (sixth long jump).

Alyssa Clogston was Winnisquam’s top individual, taking 12th in the shot put, while the 4x160 team of Lauren Bolstridge, Kaelyn Butler, Clogston and Kaylyn Dion was ninth. Emily Gibson was Hillsboro-Deering’s top individual, placing ninth in the 600, while the 4x160 team of Kymberlee Bergstresser, Ashley Parent, Danielle Armstrong and Breahna Savoy was seventh. Neither team scored.

GIRLS’ INDOOR TRACK

Morning meet at UNH

Windham won the morning’s meet with 55 points, just edging Merrimack (54) and Manchester Memorial (51).

Locally, Sant Bani finished seventh, with Sarah Steenbergen winning the 1,500 in 5:57.5.

Neither Bishop Brady nor Belmont scored, though Brady’s Brooke Solomon was eighth in both the 55 and 300, and Belmont’s top finish came from Shea Callahan, who was 10th in the shot put.

BOYS’ INDOOR TRACK

Morning meet at UNH

Goffstown (57 points) edged Merrimack (53) to win the morning meet at UNH, with Belmont (12) the top area team in eighth, followed by Bishop Brady (4) in ninth and Sant Bani (3) tied for 10th.

Joseph Boles and Bruce Zimmer both came away victorious to lead Belmont. Boles won the 1,500 in 4:29.2, and Zimmer captured the shot put with a throw of 42-1¾, a new school record. Asher Clark posted a personal best in the shot put at 31-11¾.

Brady’s Warren Bartlett took third in the 1,500, and Sant Bani’s Connor Lemay was sixth in the 600 and was part of the sixth-place 4x400 relay team with Zhenglin Yu, Giacomo Dario and Mohamed Sapry.

Afternoon meet at UNH

Kam Anderson placed third in the high jump, fourth in the 1,500 and was part of the third-place 4x400 relay team to lead Pembroke (25 points) to sixth place in the afternoon meet at UNH. Bedford nipped Prospect Mountain, 46-45, to win the meet.

Also scoring for the Spartans were Ryan Jacques (sixth 300), Drew Harrison (third 600) and John Sanborn (second 1,000). Those three were also part of the 4x400 relay.

Coe-Brown (14) placed eighth behind

Zach Richards (sixth 600), Jared Nelson (third 1,000), Alex Prevatt (second 3,000), Jake Scarponi (fifth 3,000) and the sixth-place 4x400 relay team of Davio Deluca, Nelson, Prevatt and Richards.

Franklin (8) was 12th thanks to Dillon Sylvester, who took second in the high jump and fourth in the 55 hurdles.

H-D’s 4x160 team of Sidney Livingston, Lucas Charcalis, Dominic Downs and Reed Erickson placed fifth as the Hillcats (4) took 13th as a team.

Winnisquam did not score, but had its top finish from Mike Roy (ninth 1,000) and the eighth-place 4x160 relay team of Connor Archibald, Scott Hinds, Tyler Mann and Conner Young.
