Bow’s Brummett named Gatorade girls’ soccer Player of the Year

Bow’s Gabi Brummett, a freshman at The Derryfield School, was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year for girls’ soccer. Brummett, the first girls’ soccer Gatorade winner from Derryfield, is now a finalist for the national Player of the Year award to be announced in May.

The 5-foot-7 forward scored 66 goals and doled out 15 assists this past season, helping the Cougars (17-2) to the Division IV semifinals. She scored in 18 of 19 games and had 14 multi-goal games, including five four-goal games, two five-goal games, two seven-goal games and a nine-goal game.

A U.S. Soccer under-14 girls’ national team pool player, Brummett is ranked as the nation’s No. 13 prospect in the Class of 2017 by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
