Berti’s three-run homer keys Fisher Cats’ rally in 4-3 victory

Jon Berti hit a three-run homer to tie the game and a double-play grounder brought in the go-ahead run as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored four times in the top of the eighth and beat the Bowie Baysox, 4-3, last night.

New Hampshire trailed 3-0 through seven, then rallied in the eighth as Kevin Nolan (2-for-4) doubled, Melky Mesa (3-for-5) singled and Berti (1-for-4) hit a blast over the left-field fence. Ryan Schimpf followed with a double and Hector Gimenez singled before Andy Burns hit into a double play to make it 4-3.

Reliever Dustin Antolin (2-3) was the winning pitcher, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out five. Randy Boone pitched the ninth for his seventh save.
