Coe-Brown’s Parker named Gatorade Track Athlete of the Year for New Hampshire
Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s Hannah Parker was named Gatorade New Hampshire Girls’ Track & Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight season.
Parker, who just completed her junior year, won both the 800- and 1,600-meter runs in meet-record times at the Division II championships, helping the Bears to their third straight title. She also ran the anchor legs on the winning 4x800 relay and the runner-up 4x400 relay. A week later at the Meet of Champions, she won the 800 and was on the winning 4x800 relay.
Then, this past Sunday, Parker finished in third place in the 800 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor track and field championships in North Carolina, with her time of 2:06.85 the ninth-best performance of the spring for high school runners nationwide.
Parker maintains a B average, is a member of the student council and volunteers as a youth track coach at the Nottingham Recreation Center.
