Coe-Brown’s Parker second in 800 at Brooks PR Invitational
Coe-Brown Northwood Academy’s Hannah Parker ran a career-best 2:06.12 in the 800-meter run yesterday to finish second in the Brooks PR Invitational in Seattle. Parker eclipsed her previous best by 0.3 seconds.
Parker, entering her senior year, finished runner-up to Alexa Efraimson of Camas, Wash., who ran a 2:03.26, the fastest time in the nation this year by a high school runner. Efraimson holds national season-bests in the 1,600 and 3,000, as well, and owns the all-time national prep record in the 1,600.
By finishing second, Parker also beat Houston’s Raevyn Rogers, who won the 800 at last Sunday’s New Balance Nationals Outdoor track and field championships, where Parker finished third. Rogers finished fifth yesterday.
