‘Kearsarge 2, Hillsboro-Deering 1’

The Hillcats (2-1) surrendered two early goals due to sloppy defense, but picked up their game in the final half only to come up shorthanded after the Cougar defense stood tall.

Kearsarge (1-1) built its lead with goals from Jacob Donovan (13 minute) and Andrew VanHooydonk (26th minute). H-D cut the lead to one just three minutes into the second half as Andrew Hudson finished off a Josh Gould throw-in. The Hillcats pushed hard for the final 37 minutes and generated several chances, but the Kearsarge defense allowed only three shots on goal.

Kearsarge keeper Casey Laughinghouse finished with eight saves while H-D keeper Brett Bennett had nine.’
