John Stark-Hopkinton upsets Berlin in OT to claim hockey championship

MANCHESTER – Simon Hunter picked off a pass, took a couple of strides and sent the puck crashing into the top of the net, popping the goalie’s water bottle into the air and popping off a wild celebration behind the net.
The senior’s goal with 3:30 remaining in overtime gave the John Stark-Hopkinton boys’ hockey team a 3-2 victory over top-ranked and previously undefeated Berlin in the Division III title game yesterday and brought the Generals the first hockey championship in the program’s history.
