Concord band, football team helping celebrate Gill Stadium

Concord High will be taking part in the 100th anniversary celebration of Manchester’s Gill Stadium today.

At 4 p.m., the Crimson Tide will be one of four marching bands to perform, joining Manchester Central, West and Memorial. Then at 7, Concord will take on Central in the season-opening football game. The Concord-Central rivalry dates back longer than Gill Stadium itself, with the first football game taking place in 1899.
