The Insiders: Just the right number of K’s for a Sunday
It seems that mankind has determined that five K’s is the perfect number of K’s. Wouldn’t you have loved to have been involved in that meeting? “Well, American history shows us that three K’s are simply bad for public relations. And six K’s would obviously be far too many. Five it is!” We’re just going to assume the final decision was made by the same guy who put the last .2 on all marathons. Anyway, enjoy the perfect road race distance this afternoon when the fourth annual Sue Ann Martin 5K Road Race is held at Broken Ground School at noon.
Registration begins at 10 a.m., and all proceeds will go to the Sue Ann Martin Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Concord High School seniors. Just don’t expect to see any of the school’s seniors at the race. Noontime on a Sunday? You might as well have scheduled it for 4 a.m.

Love a good mystery? Red River Theatres does. How do we know? We’ve read into the context clues hidden deep within their “I Love a Mystery” film series, which continues this afternoon with a showing of Grand Central Murder, which, not unlike this column, is described as a clever whodunit. The movie will be shown at 4 p.m. Visit redrivertheatres.org for more information.
