Sea Dogs pound Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats ripped 12 hits, including two homers, but their bats were outdone by the visiting Portland Sea Dogs, who pounded out 18 hits in a 15-4 victory in Manchester last night.

Kevin Pillar went 3-for-5, including a homer, Ricardo Nanita (2-for-5) and Kevin Nolan (2-for-4) had multi-hit games, and Ryan Schimpf homered to lead the Fishers’ attack. Starting pitcher Ryan Tepera (4-3) took the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) in just 3 1∕3 innings.

Portland was led by Travis Shaw (4-for-5, three runs, homer, four RBI), Michael Almanzar (3-for-5, homer, five RBI) and Tony Thomas (3-for-6, three runs).

New Hampshire faces New Britain on the road tonight at 6:35.
