Proctor, Holderness players drafted by Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers drafted a pair of area prep school players in Sunday night’s NHL Draft. Holderness School defenseman Terrance Amorosa was taken in the fifth round (132nd overall), while Proctor Academy goalie Merrick Madsen went in the sixth round with the 162nd pick.

Amorosa, from Kirkland, Quebec, had nine goals and 13 assists last season for the Bulls. He had committed to play with the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL next season.

Madsen, from Acton, Calif., is the second Proctor player to be drafted, joining Josh Robertson (2004 by the Washington Capitals). He plans to play for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL next fall and has committed to Harvard University as a member of the Class of 2018.
