Trenton earns series split by shutting down Fisher Cats
Fisher Cats shut down
The Trenton Thunder kept New Hampshire off the scoreboard through the first six innings to earn a split of its four-game series with the Fisher Cats, winning 8-2 yesterday.
Andrew Clark hit three doubles for Trenton (50-50), part of the Thunders’ nine-hit attack.
Tommy Manzella drove in both runs for the Fisher Cats (51-48) with a double in the seventh.
Marcus Walden and Chorye Spoone both yielded four runs, with Walden (6-10) taking the loss. He pitched the first five innings, scattering five hits with three walks and striking out seven. Spoone allowed four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in two innings.
The Fisher Cats return home tonight for the start a seven-game homestand against Harrisburg and Altoona.
