Playoff-hopeful Fisher Cats defeat Sea Dogs, 8-6

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored a big win for their playoff hopes yesterday, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs, 8-6, to climb into third in the Eastern League with a 67-69 record.

Ryan Schimpf had three hits, including his 23rd home run of the season, to lead the way offensively. Amadeo Zazueta added a two-run double for New Hampshire, while Kevin Ahrens, Andy Burns (two apiece) and Kenny Wilson also drove in runs.

Ryan Tepera picked up the save, his first of his career.
