Monarchs fall in OT to Penguins, 4-3
Less than 24 hours after winning in a shootout, the Manchester Monarchs fell in overtime, losing yesterday to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 4-3.
The Penguins ended it early in OT when Brendan Mikkelson scored just 22 seconds in.
The teams traded goals throughout the game, with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton scoring first and never trailing.
Sean Backman, Andrew Bodnarchuk and Nick Deslauriers scored for the Monarchs, with Jordan Weal notching two assists. Jean-Francois Berube (19 saves) took the loss in the nets.
