Jones shuts down Providence for 2-1 Monarchs victory

Goaltender Martin Jones stopped 32 shots to backstop the Manchester Monarchs (25-10-2-4) to a 2-1 victory over Providence last night, extending their lead in the Atlantic Division to 10 points over the Bruins (20-13-1-5).

Zach O’Brien scored the go-ahead goal at 5:33 of the third period.

The Bruins had taken a 1-0 lead at 15:09 of the opening period on a goal by Zach Trotman, and Manchester pulled back even just 2:44 into the second on Vincent LoVerde’s first goal of the season.
