The Insiders: Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a party this fine day
‘You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go . . .”
But there’s no need for tough decisions on this fine Saturday. There’s only one thing to do on this wonderful winter’s day.
Dr. Seuss’s 110th birthday would be tomorrow, so why not party like you’re on top of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Head over to Gibson’s for a get-together at 1 p.m. before dashing over to the library for more Dr. Seuss fun.
There will be story time, crafts and birthday cake to eat and here’s a little hint: Gibson’s is located at 45 S. Main St. The Cat in the Hat will be there and so should you, because what better thing can you think of to do?
The festivities at the library get going at 2 p.m., with books, activities and refreshments all just for you. It’s a great way to honor the great children’s writer, and it will surely make your Saturday a whole lot brighter.
Both events are free and open to the public, and don’t forget to wear that zany shirt from Banana Republic.
We all grew up with the rhymes of Dr. Seuss dancing in our head, so why not celebrate his birthday from morning till bed?
