The Insiders: Think spring with the Concord Garden Club
We know it’s hard to think spring with temperatures still hovering around freezing and snow covering just about everywhere you look.
But after the winter we’ve all just endured, there’s no harm in dreaming a bit. Really, at this point it’s all we’ve got. And what better way than to start prepping for your annual garden.
That’s right folks, the Concord Garden Club is hosting an event this afternoon at 1 at the McLane Center called “The Edible Landscape.”
John Forti, a nationally recognized lecturer, garden historian, ethno botanist and garden writer, will discuss how to eat locally and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Boy, could we go for some fresh fruits of someone’s labor – or vegetables for that matter.
Forti will talk about planting edible gardens and landscapes and offer meaningful ways to promote a sense of place from seed to table.
The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and hopefully that includes some labor fruits.
