The Insiders: Come for the reception, stay for the art (or is it the other way around?)
It’s Friday (and Friday the 13th, no less), and the weekend is supposed to be nice, which means you’re not really going to get anything done at work today. Don’t worry, you weren’t fooling anyone anyway. So why not start planning your after-work activities now? In fact, let us do it. We all know receptions are the best part of any gathering. That’s where all the sweet snacks and drinks are. Do you really think anyone outside of (maybe) your parents would actually attend your wedding if it wasn’t followed immediately by a reception? So stop by McGowan Fine Art this evening, not for a wedding, but for an artist’s reception to introduce “Digital Prints and Light Boxes,” the new showcase of work by Peter Milton. His work will be on display until July 11, but tonight is the night to peep it in an official celebratory setting.
Also today, The Living Deads will be playing at Makris Lobster House at 7 p.m., and Joyce Ray and Amelia Faith will be appearing at Gibson’s Bookstore at 6 p.m.
