Jones stymies Baby B’s

Manchester goalie Martin Jones made 42 saves for the shutout as the Monarchs beat the Providence Bruins, 3-0, last night at the Verizon Wireless Arena.

Linden Vey and Marc-Andre Cliche scored goals a little more than a minute apart in the second period to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead, then Anthony Stewart scored an empty-netter with 59 seconds left to ice the game.

Jones kept the Monarchs (21-17-2-2) in the game early by stopping 16 shots in the first period while Manchester put only seven shots on net.
