Committee of Conference Watch: work starting today on state budget

With the legislative year winding down, committees of conference are working at the State House to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of various bills — 42 in all.

Four conference committees are scheduled to meet today, including the first meeting of the all-important committee dealing with the state operating budget for the biennium that begins July 1. Times and locations may change, so click here for the latest.

∎ House Bills 1 and 2, the state budget, meeting at 10 a.m. in room 210-211 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 124, relative to the determination of gainful occupation for a Group II member receiving an accidental disability retirement allowance from the retirement system, meeting at 10 a.m. in room 306 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 252, consolidating the property appraisal division and the municipal services division of the Department of Revenue Administration, meeting at 1 p.m. in room 306 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 385, relative to licensure of, and the performance of electrical work by, elevator and accessibility lift mechanics, meeting at 1:30 p.m. in room 306 of the Legislative Office Building.

The deadline for committees of conference to submit their reports is next Thursday.
