Committee of Conference Watch: budget, capital budget, voter ID up today
With just days remaining until the deadline for committees of conference to complete their work, lawmakers will continue negotiations today on bills where the Democratic-led House and Republican-led Senate disagree on details large and small.
Eight committees are scheduled to meet today. Times and locations can change, so be sure to check the Legislature’s website for the latest information
∎ House Bills 1 and 2, the operating budget, meeting 9 a.m. in room 210-211 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ House Bill 25, the capital budget, meeting 12:30 p.m. in room 201 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ Senate Bill 48, relative to school performance and accountability, meeting 9 a.m. in room 103 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ House Bill 595, relative to photo identification of voters (voter ID), meeting 9:30 a.m. in room 308 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ House Bill 183, relative to processing absentee ballots, meeting 10:30 a.m. in room 308 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ House Bill 599, relative to establishing a single liquor commissioner, meeting 12:30 p.m. in room 306 of the Legislative Office Building.
∎ Senate Bill 189, relative to the licensure of fuel gas fitters and plumbers by a mechanical licensing board established within the Department of Safety and transferring regulation of plumbers to the mechanical licensing board, meeting 1 p.m. in room 100 of the State House.
∎ Senate Bill 135, relative to the regulation of the practice of genetic counseling, meeting 2 p.m. in room 100 of the State House.
The deadline for conference committees to complete their work is Thursday.
