Committee of Conference Watch: state budget, medical marijuana on tap today

It’ll be a busy day today at the State House, as committees of conference continue to work on bills as the legislative year winds down.

Sixteen committees are scheduled to meet today to deal with 18 bills. Among them is the conference committee on the state budget, which will resume today at 10 a.m., and the committee of conference on the medical marijuana bill, which will meet at 9 a.m.

The deadline for committees to finish their work is Thursday.

∎ House Bill 573, relative to the use of cannabis for therapeutic purposes (medical marijuana), meeting 9 a.m. in room 205 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 546, relative to medical examinations under workers’ compensation, meeting 9:30 a.m. in room 307 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 357, prohibiting an employer from using credit history in employment decisions and authorizing electronic payment of payroll, meeting 9:45 a.m. in room 307 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bills 1 and 2, the state budget, meeting 10 a.m. in room 210-211 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 295, requiring criminal background checks for volunteers and employees at youth skill camps, meeting 10 a.m. in room 305 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 414, relative to privacy in the workplace and relative to legislative approval of collective bargaining agreements entered into by the state, meeting 10:15 a.m. in room 307 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 233, relative to the care of the war memorial in Franconia Notch State Park, and relative to the Honor and Remember Flag as an official symbol to recognize and honor fallen members of the armed forces, meeting 11:30 a.m. in room 305 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 253, relative to limitations on sales by nano breweries for consumption on the premises, meeting 11:30 a.m. in room 302 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 220, relative to the New Hampshire Medal of Honor, meeting 1 p.m. in room 203 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 265, relative to procedures by absentee voters, meeting 1 p.m. in room 308 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 314 and Senate Bill 75, both of which deal with charitable gaming, meeting 1 p.m. in room 103 of the State House.

∎ House Bill 472, relative to residential units in rooming houses, meeting 1 p.m. in room 302 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 594, relative to the general consumer credit laws of the state, meeting 2 p.m. in room 302 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 524, relative to National Guard facilities, the National Guard Scholarship Fund and the state active duty death benefit, meeting 2:30 p.m. in room 201 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 664, relative to the New Hampshire Vaccine Association and relative to voter registration, meeting 2:30 p.m. in room 302 of the Legislative Office Building.

∎ House Bill 518, relative to establishing an individual’s status as a veteran and specifying that training for active duty is service for purposes of the veterans’ tax credit, meeting 3 p.m. in room 203 of the Legislative Office Building.
