Mitt Romney’s back, and planning a fundraiser Aug. 6 for the N.H. GOP
Mitt Romney’s back.
The 2012 Republican presidential nominee, who owns a summer house in Wolfeboro, will hold a fundraiser Aug. 6 in the Lakes Region for the New Hampshire Republican Party.
“New Hampshire has always been a special place for Gov. Romney. It’s the state where he launched his presidential campaign, where he spends time with his family every summer and it’s a place where he will always have many friends and loyal supporters,” said party Chairwoman Jennifer Horn in a statement. “We are thrilled that Gov. Romney has agreed to host one of his first fundraisers since the election for our party and help New Hampshire Republicans restore fiscal sanity to Concord and Washington.”
Romney has largely stayed out of the public eye since losing last November’s presidential election. The Wall Street Journal reported May 30 that he planned to emerge from his semi-seclusion and “help shape national priorities.”
The party said in a news release today that the location and other details of the Aug. 6 event will be announced later this week. Tickets will start at $100.
The party also specified that the event will be closed to news media.
