The Insiders: Mustard, chocolate chips and chilling on a Sunday
Sundays are for running some errands around town, doing a little yard work around the house, maybe leaving town and joining the circus like you’ve always wanted. Whatever is on your to-do list, it shouldn’t be particularly taxing. With that in mind, we’ve got a trio of cool things to do today that are sure to help you mellow out. However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t note that Aug. 4 is both Chocolate Chip Day and Mustard Day. We don’t recommend combining them into one doughy yellow disaster, but it wouldn’t be the worst idea to build your dinner and dessert plans around the celebrations. Or to invite us over to help eat some of it.
Anyway, back to things that are actual things. What better way to settle into relaxation than with some yoga? Sharing Yoga is hosting Seva yoga by donation classes at 4 p.m., which are classes for those who can’t afford regular yoga classes. Instructors donate their time, and attendees are asked to donate whatever they are able. Sharing yoga donates the proceeds to a local charity every three months. For those scoring at home, that’s the donation triple play.
If you’d rather chill out to some tunes while dining on some tasty grub – non-chocolate chip and mustard division – there are certainly tunes to be heard. Alan Roux will be playing at Makris Lobster House at 4 p.m., and Paul Borgelais will be performing at Hermanos beginning at 6:30 p.m.
