The Insiders: Skip town and go to the fair
It’s the last Sunday before football season, folks, and you know what that means: You have little to no excuse not to hang out with your family today. Normally, we don’t like to send our readers outside of our fair city’s limits (we are the Insiders, after all), but hey – the Hopkinton State Fair comes but once a year!
We’re talking a demolition derby, midway games, rides, livestock and barkers, barkers, barkers! All the fixins of a traditional New England state fair – conveniently located in the next town over. That’s right, there’s no messy cleanup for Concord; feel free to ride the Tilt-A-Whirl until you’ve barfed half a dozen times, and leave it to those Hopkintonians to clean up! For more information, visit hsfair.org.

Back here in Concord, break out your white yoga pants (last chance!) and head to Sharing Yoga (3 Pleasant St., second floor) at 4 p.m. for Seva Yoga by donation. This class is designed for people who can’t normally afford yoga to pay what they can and take classes with teachers who are donating their time. Turn that downward dog upside down and put a smile on your face! For more information, visit sharingyoga.com.
Elsewhere, the State Street Combo performs free at Hermanos at 6:30 p.m.
