Red Sox unveil schedule for 2014 season

The Red Sox are still working on the finish to this season, but now they know the slate for their next one.

Boston’s 2014 schedule was announced yesterday, and will have the Red Sox opening the season March 31 with a three-game stint at Baltimore to face the Orioles. The Red Sox will open at home the next series, when they’ll host the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game set starting April 4.

The New York Yankees will make their first visit to Fenway Park April 22-24, and will return Aug. 1-3. The Red Sox will also close the regular season against New York, hosting the Yankees Sept. 26-28.

Theo Epstein’s Chicago Cubs will play the Red Sox in Fenway June 30-July 2, and Boston’s other NL Central opponents will include Cincinnati (May 6-7 and Aug. 12-13), St. Louis (Aug. 5-7) and Pittsburgh (Sept. 16-18).

The Red Sox will host Baltimore in their annual Patriots Day game.
